We are Abby and Logan, the forces behind Rooted and Roaming.
Nature lovers to our core, we’ve spent years Roaming the Pacific Northwest in search of epic mountain ranges, sparkling lakes, rugged coastlines, and dusty deserts.
Over the years, we realized many of our happiest and most fulfilling moments in life have been trekking on a trail, relaxing in a campground, gliding on a surfboard, and soaking in a hot spring in the Pacific Northwest.
With each adventure, we fell deeper in love with the magic of this special region.
Reflecting on our gratitude for the natural playground of the Pacific Northwest, we discovered our true passion: helping other people experience this PNW magic for themselves.
To fulfill this mission, we created Rooted and Roaming, an informational hub of articles, video guides, gear reviews, and other helpful resources brimming with first-hand knowledge and practical tips for enjoying premier outdoor experiences in the PNW.
Established in 2023, Rooted and Roaming is our digital framework to inform and empower your next adventure in Oregon, Washington, and beyond.
But don’t get the wrong idea. We’re not van-residing vagabonds, though maybe someday we will be!
On the contrary, we’re mostly sedentary people with full time careers and a dorky dog (who takes up more of our time and money than we’d like).
In fact, we’re happily Rooted in Central Oregon, surrounded by outdoor adventures on all sides.
If you’re like us, your life is busy and it’s a constant battle to carve time out of your schedule to plan that camping adventure, sketch out your weekend road trip, or research which hikes are truly spectacular.
Believe us, we know the painful feeling of sinking hours of research planning an adventure only to end up with more questions than answers!
We can’t pack your bag, but we can lift some of that tedious and time-consuming burden of the planning process.
