We are Abby and Logan, the forces behind Rooted and Roaming, a project that we started in 2023.
Our Mission
Our goal is to help people explore the Pacific Northwest and make the most of their time in this special corner of the world. From the plethora of outdoor adventures to the renowned breweries and everything in between, there is never a dull moment here.
We have been fortunate enough to call Central Oregon our home for some time now and have had the opportunity to explore much of what the PNW has to offer.
When we are not working, we love camping, hiking, surfing, hot-spring-soaking, paddleboarding, and waterfall-watching. As a result, we have built up a knowledge base of lots of amazing places to visit in Oregon and Washington.
We understand that planning a trip (whether it be a normal weekend, a spring break vacay, or a longer visit) can be time-consuming and stressful.
To help streamline the process of planning your time in the PNW, we try to pack as much of our local knowledge and helpful guidance into our articles and YouTube videos as we can.
Whether you are a first-time visitor or long-time local, we hope to help you enjoy the PNW to the fullest degree possible. Whatever you’re into and wherever you are coming from, let us help you explore this amazing region!
A Bit About Us
We moved to Redmond in early 2022. Abby has lived in Central Oregon (primarily Bend) since 1996. Logan has lived in the Portland area most of his life and is exploring Central Oregon for the first time (and loving it).
As outdoor fanatics, we can’t get enough of the adventures here in Central Oregon. We have hiked our fair share of trails, swam in a few lakes, climbed some nice rocks, skied until our legs gave out, and more! Logan’s only complaint is we are a bit far from the coast for surfing.
As much as we love Central Oregon, we get out often to explore other parts of the Pacific Northwest, especially the Oregon Coast, Eastern Oregon, and parts of Washington.
